Evolving Properties along a JellyFish Galaxy's Tail

In Verbeke et al.(2015,2017) a simulation of a dwarf galaxy falling into a Fornax-like cluster was conducted. As a result of ram pressure stripping, the model galaxy produces long tails of stripped gas, like the tentacles of a jellyfish (hence the name 'Jellyfish galaxy'). In this image, the 1DREAM tool box was used idenitfy the individual tentacles of the Jellyfish, then track along them, measuring the evolving properties of their gas, such as density, metallcity and temperature.
