With minor modifications, the 1DREAM tools can also be applied to higher dimensionality problems. For example, identification of a 1-D manifold in 4, 5 or more dimensions. Althernatively, structures that belong to higher dimensional structures can also be identified such as flat 2D structures, or round 3D structures, etc. This gives the 1DREAM toolbox versatility of use towards many scientific problems - not just for looking for 1-D structures in a 3D data set. For example, it can be used to find important correlations between multiple indicators of any data set
